Innovative modular Eaton AC drives now available in Australia
Eaton’s new range of AC modular variable speed drives are characterised by a high degree of modularity and programmability, enabling one hardware platform to be used for a multitude of applications.
Description
The modular systems consist of a power unit to which a control unit is connected. There is a choice of control modules, the LCX for high performance applications, the SVX for general industrial applications and the SLX for simple applications in pumping and ventilation. Typical uses for the drives are controlling pumping, ventilation, water/waste water systems, compressors, elevators and cranes.
The many software packages available for use in various applications include a new advanced pump control package designed for use in large municipal systems and waste water treatment plants. The controls enable multiple drives to operate in master slave arrangements so that pumps and flow conditions in a total system can be optimised, minimising energy costs and chemical usage.
With ratings from 1-2200A and 240-690V, the power sections are available in air cooled and liquid cooled configurations with IP21-IP54 ratings. The compact liquid cooled drives provide space savings of up to 80%. Complementing the standard modules are options for regenerative and DC fed applications and multipulse rectifiers for low input current distortion.
