Itech Corporation delivers its largest project scope to date

Itech Corporation successfully completed in 2015, its largest project commitment to date with the simultaneous engineering, construction, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of three key projects for Goulburn Mulwaree Council.

For the first time in Itech Corporation's 23 year history, the company successfully bid, won and delivered simultaneously, three multi-discipline engineering projects for a client. The projects were the electrical, civil and mechanical upgrade and conversion of the Rossi Water Pumping Station, the electrical, civil and mechanical upgrade of the Bradley Street Sewerage Pumping Station and the automation and electrical upgrade of the Goulburn Water Treatment Plant all for the Goulburn Mulwaree Council.

Project Management of the projects was by Itech Corporation director, Angelo Hasouros, electrical and systems engineering by the Itech engineering and electrical projects services team, manufacturing of the electrical switchboards by AForce Switchboards, a long term partner of Itech Corporation, as well as manufacturing of control panels in the Itech workshop in Tempe in Sydney.

The main sub-contractor appointed by Itech Corporation for the civil and mechanical works was Precision Civil, who did an outstanding job under challenging circumstances having to work under an electrical engineering company for once. Additional mechanical and civil engineering consultancy services were provided to Itech Corporation by Stark Engineering. Itech appointed Connect Infrastructure for the HV contracting and construction works which included the conversion of the power supply to LV. Additional local site installation electricians, supporting Itech's electrical installation team, were provided to Itech Corporation by White Collar Blue for the duration of the works.

All of the software design and execution works was conducted by Itech's systems engineering team, including development of the PLC code for the Rockwell Compact Logix system, the design and execution of the new Citect SCADA system and the implementation of the remote communications.

The equipment used on the project was as follows: VSD's by ABB, automation system hardware by Rockwell Automation via Rexel, submersible pumps for the sewerage pumping station were Flyght by Xylem and the pumps for the water pumping station were from KSB.

The projects were delivered on budget and within the expected time frames allowing for some scope changes and interactions with concurrent works by others. It is noteworthy that during the execution of these significant works, over $3m, Itech Corporation won, designed, manufactured and delivered 3 other significant projects for other clients including a Storm Water Harvesting System for Blacktown Council, an Oil Blending Tank Farm Automation system for Nulon and the control system for a rail project for John Holland.
