RIIHAN309F Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations
6-8 hours*
PLEASE NOTE: *Course duration may vary based on training group size, prior operator experience (if any) and the number of attachments you are being trained on. Please also refer to WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING OR LICENSING DO I NEED TO OPERATE MY TELEHANDLER to ensure you are booking into the appropriate course.
Participants must be over 18 years of age, be able to speak and understand English; understand technical concepts; and provide suitable photo identification. There are no other licence prerequisites required for this course.
A telescopic materials handler or telehandler, is a mobile all terrain multi-purpose machine fitted with a variable height/reach telescopic boom and a lifting attachment. The most common attachment are forks, but telehandlers can be fitted with a variety of attachments for different types of loads.
Some other attachment types that can be fitted to a Telehandler are:
In NSW, a High Risk Work (HRW) Licence is not required to operate a Telehandler with fork attachments regardless of lifting capacity*, however in accordance with the WHS Act and Regulations 2011 under Primary Duty of Care, a PCBU must provide information, training, instruction or supervision that is necessary to protect all persons from risks to their health and safety arising from work carried out as part of the conduct of the business or undertaking. A Gold Card provides evidence of formal information and training for operators of telescopic material handlers.

Participants successfully meeting the assessment criteria will be issued a Statement of Attainment in RIIHAN309F Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations and a Telescopic Handler Association (TSHA) Trained Operator Gold Card for the type of Telehandler and attachments you have been trained in the use of.
This course is only conducted in English, no interpreters or translators are permitted.
FOR COURSES CONDUCTED AT OUR SITE IN WETHERILL PARK, NSW:
YOU MUST WEAR/BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO THIS COURSE:
* HI VIS WORKWEAR OR SAFETY VEST
* STEEL CAP FOOTWEAR
* HARD HAT
(Entry to premises will not be allowed if you fail to bring/wear the items above).
We provide filtered water, tea, coffee & biscuits during the course, however lunch is not included so you will need to bring or buy your own lunch.
