The Australian Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Association (AFIBCA) was formed in 1986 by the companies that were manufacturing or importing bulk bags at that time. There was a need for a single voice in dealing with the regulatory bodies that controlled the shipment of products and to encourage industries to use safe products and handling practices. The Australian Standard AS3668 for FIBCs was born out of this and was adopted by industries as the main guide used when choosing or using FIBCs.
AFIBCA today is the source of information to its members on regulations for international shipments of product. Information is obtained from our close association with EFIBCA (Europe).
