Choosing the right packaging tape for your needs

Whether you need a tape that works in a cool room, or you have issue with pilfering, choosing the right packaging tape can make all the difference.

When it comes to just sealing closed boxes, it's hard to understand why there are so many types of packaging tapes, and which one will suit you - which one is the best? So we've made a simple to understand list of types of choose from and consider - all of which are sold by Get Packed.

Custom Printed Tape - get your message out there

Printed tape is most commonly done on PVC or polypropylene - which are 'everyday' types of tape for general usage, but can also be done on filament or even paper tape.
Why print on tape? Printed tape is an easy way of getting your message across just by taping your cartons, whether it be brand/logo reinforcement, an environmentally friendly message - or other type of message. We can arrange printing of up to 3 colours.

Water Activated Paper Tape -
best adhesion , environmentally friendly and pilfer proof/tamper evident

There are 2 reasons you would consider water activated tape. You want a complete pilfer proof seal on your box (great for tamper sealing and evidence) and/or you're looking for an environmentally friendly option.
The starch based adhesive on the paper tape (once wet) will adhere to the fibres of the box, making it impossible to lift off without tearing - making it completely pilfer proof.

Kraft Paper Tape
environmentally friendly

This is an alternative environmentally friendly option - that can also be custom printed - as it is a paper tape with the adhesive being made from a synthetic rubber adhesive, and no need to wet it. Whilst it doesn't have the same adhesion as the water activated tape, it is still good enough to use on recycled board. Available in hand rolls and machine rolls even comes reinforced with fibreglass filaments for additional strength.

They are available as a low noise tape, a compostable tape (uses a PLA bio based film) as well as a premium tape. All available as machine tapes too.
