Environdata | Wind Speed Sensor | WS49 ...
The body is symmetrical and well clear of the three rotating cups which helps to minimise interfering eddies. The dynamic characteristics of the unit are exceptionally good because the moment of inertia of the rotating parts is very low. The above features enhance the sensitivity of the instrument and make it ideally suited to the study of micro-climates, as well as meso-scale monitoring.
The output pulses are generated by hall effect triggers mounted on the lower end of the spindle, which provide an ideal friction-less and ultra-reliable sensing mechanism, that is quite robust and will not require recalibration for many years.
The spindle body is undercut to prevent entrance of moisture through the upper “O”ring. A labyrinth significantly reduces entrance of dust or moisture into the upper bearing.
Applications
Benefits
Use Environdata’s IS37 10m tilt-down engineer rated instrument mast and WD48 Wind Direction sensor in conjunction with the WS49 for a complete wind monitoring package suitable to meet EPA requirements in all states and territories of Australia (Including AM-1, AM-2, AM-4 in NSW).
