And in the moment of emergency, it is vital to eliminate confusion so that an operator doesn’t try to contain a spill emergency with the wrong equipment. The AusSpill Association was formed in 2014, with the sole purpose of providing a uniform standard and voice for the spill control environmental industry. One of the key goals was to develop a national colour standard for spill kit type identification, so that operators can be certain of the type of the spill kit by a momentary glance at it. This new colour standard has become uniform across the country, and has been adopted by all the leading suppliers of Spill Kits in Australia.
