FireCrunch Flood Resistant Building Board ...
FireCrunch flood resistant building board does not degrade in water. It remains inert and can be unscrewed from timber frames to enable the timber to dry out before being re screwed to the forming. It simply requires clean-up and repainting, and re installed with normal power tools or screwdrivers. No messy plaster board degrade and no damage.
FireCrunch is an extremely dense, hardwearing and long lasting building sheet that is resistant to permanent water damage when installed and maintained correctly. This makes it the smart choice for laundries, kitchens, bathrooms floors and decking in both domestic and commercial projects. FireCrunch is also ideal as a substrate for tiling, marble, slate or granite in wet and dry areas.
FireCrunch is completely free of toxins, including formaldehyde, silica, asbestos, heavy metals, and organic solvents.
Key Benefits:
FireCrunch is highly resistant to fire (CSIRO TESTED) and will not burn in a fire storm. FireCrunch is applicable in BAL 12.5 to 40 and FZ Flame Zone regulation areas when used to protect exposed timber framing, eaves, joists etc. It is tested by the CSIRO to worst case scenario of fire storm conditions.
Meets AS/NZS 1530.1, 1530.2, 1530.3, 1530.4.-2014 , 1530.8.1 & 8.2, AS/NZS 3959 and AS/NZS 3837.
FireCrunch is 8 to 10 times stronger than plasterboard reducing loss and breakage. It is also less expensive ,WHERE MULTIPLE LAYERS OF 16MM PLASTER BOARD IN FIRE SITUATIONS ARE REPLACED BY JUST 1 X 10MM FireCrunch SHEET ,and lighter in weight than compressed fibre cement (CFC) panel AND CUTS FAST AND EASILY WITH TIMBER TOOLS AND SAWS . Due to its material properties, FireCrunch does not break down or warp in water, therefore less replacement requirement after flooding... simply clean, seal and repaint.
One of the biggest issues for Australian homes is Termites. FireCrunch is made from a uniquely formulated, non-toxic fibre composite mix but is impervious to termites and insects. It totally protects expensive timber framing. Eastern states termites can destroy the timber in a 3 bed home in 12 months
Due to the predominant chemical compounds Magnesium Oxide (MgO) and Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4) in our building boards, it eliminates mould as well as mildew and moisture resistance in warm and humid conditions. FireCrunch’s Magnesium Oxide composition means those damaging and unhealthy bacterial elements can’t grow or survive on our building board.
FireCrunch is an Australian NATA tested product and has total sound and acoustic resistance as a sound proof building board up to Rw 62 net 52 on 10 mm boards in double stud framing for fire separation walls.
Cement board and plasterboard manufacturing use kiln temperatures of more than 1300°C. FireCrunch is produced at temperatures around 650°C therefore producing 50% less Co2 during the manufacturing process, in carbonation. It draws back 90% of the Co2 produced and makes it a virtually carbon neutral product 5%. ( new Scientist magazine USA on MgO products
General Features:
Applications:
FireCrunch building board has extensive applications in major construction for Firecrunch residential and FireCrunch commercial properties. It is also of particular interest to those renovating or repairing homes where either plasterboard gypsum style linings or other kinds of high maintenance products have been used.
