Glass Forming Furnaces
Glass forming is the ability to be able to heat glass so that it becomes softer and has more of a capacity to flow and take up shapes. It allows for "solid to fluid" and returning to solid state (once shaped) without excessive internal stresses. Glass slumping and glass decorating are common usages for these furnaces. Generally, batch furnaces (production in smaller volumes) are used for the production of hard glass and coloured glasses while large-scale productions of continuous furnace are used for sheet glass etc. Glass tempering and heat-soak furnaces are also available.
