HRS Plate Heat Exchangers | Gasketed
The exchangers are fitted with EPDM or NBR gaskets with the frames constructed from painted carbon steel. A double seal arrangement around the two ports ensures that if fluid leaks, it passes through the inter-space directly to the outside, avoiding cross contamination.
An extensive range of sizes of plate heat exchanger is available ranging from those models, which deliver flow rates of 0.7 litres per second to the largest units which are capable of flow rates of up to 819 litres per second (2,950,000 litres per hour). The range is designed for flexibility enabling the number of plates, the type and the number of flow paths to be varied, so that a heat exchanger can be manufactured according to a particular application in terms of power rating, operating temperature and pressure drop.
HRS INDUSTRIAL GASKETED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS
On an HRS Industrial Plate Heat Exchanger, the plate pack consists of a number of herringbone patterned, pressed heat transfer plates. These are assembled in an inverse formation to create two sets of parallel channels, one for each liquid. Since the herringbone patterns point in opposite directions, a large number of points of support are achieved, creating a lattice in each channel. This provides a high level of turbulence, which in turn leads to an elevated rate of heat transfer.
These heat exchangers are suitable for:
HRS HYGIENIC GASKETED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS
Glueless clip type gaskets are used on these heat exchangers to reduce operational downtime by allowing for easy servicing and maintenance. Each gasket has a number of two-pronged clips that slide beneath the plate to hold the gasket securely in the gasket groove. These clips are placed at regular intervals around the edges of the plates so that when the unit is assembled and tightened, the gasket provides a complete and secure seal. The gaskets are arranged so that the two fluids are directed into the alternate channels created by the plates.
All HRS Hygienic Plate Heat Exchangers are computer-designed in-house and are calculated to obtain the correct thermal length for the heat transfer duty required, within specific parameters.
Hygienic Gasketed plate heat exchangers are used for heating and cooling for the food, drink, dairy and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries; as well as pasteurising and sterilising in the food and drink industries.
