New in Australia from Ishida and available from Heat and Control ICP, the UNI 7 range of retail scales is made for the fast paced retail environment.  The UNI 7 range offers various unit types with features that facilitate speedy operations and create appealing point of sale opportunities that improve customer communications.

User friendly operations
UNI 7 runs on VX Works, which is a Real Time Operating System (RTOS) that is seen by many industries as the most reliable option.  The UNI 7 allows retailers to maximise the use of their store Host System through data transfer and each unit has wireless capability as standard and therefore does not require manual link via USB or data cabling. This makes is easy to move units around the store.  UNI 7 offers easy programming directly on the scale or through PC software and error log files make error identification quicker.

Long-term traceability is made easy, with the UNI 7 being able to provide a virtual receipt for up to 5 years.  Plus it is GS1 ready, which enables the unique identification of all trade items, processes, services, shipments, assets, companies and locations at any point in the supply chain. This system is used by all industries to facilitate trade by combining unique identification numbers with data carriers (barcodes) and electronic commerce processes.  

Workflow and efficiency behind a busy counter is improved significantly with a few clever features.  Users are able to use multiple units when serving once customer as they move around the serving counter due to a ‘Floating Operator’ function. The keypad features ‘Vibration Technology’ with audio, so that users don’t accidentally make false entries or incomplete entries. 

Highly visual PLU menus make item selection easier. Also available (On the Elevated Twin Printer model) is dual printing of receipts and labels. Plus it has a quick automatic cutter equipped with a receipt fall prevention function.

The compact, low-profile UNI 7 uses a front cassette loading method, freeing up more counter space for displaying products and making it easier to replace labels. Plus, label type changeover is made faster with the UNI 7 as it will automatically detect up to 7 different label cassettes as they are changed.

Improved customer communications
Customer communications can be significantly improved by customising labels and taking advantage of a tilt-able colour LCD screens for cross promotion purposes. The UNI 7 has a 7 inch colour screen with scrolling advertising and screen saver to attract the customer’s attention to daily promotions.

To provide customers with easy-to-follow instructions or ingredients, visual information such messages, traceability data, nutritional information, recipes and allergy information can be printed onto the labels. To differentiate between different brands logos can also be inserted in label designs.

A unique feature of the UNI 7 is a multiple languages setting that retailers can customise for their target market. This is easily set-up through one of five languages presets, plus two languages can be printed at the same time.
