PVC Grease Traps
These contaminants are commonly found in sinks and various cooking or kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and wok burners. Similar trade waste tanks are used at various industry sectors including mechanical workshops and manufacturing plants. Without a grease trap, fats, oils & grease enter the pipes where they can solidify and cause costly blockages and backups and have a massive environmental impact.
Our grease traps, also known as grease trap interceptors, are fabricated from a minimum of 6mm cast PVC or Polypropylene sheet, and up to 12mm thick depending on the application. We often make custom sizes as small as 100 Liters for fitment under benches, sinks etc and oversize units for larger waste collection over 5000 Liters. Custom units can be built to incorporate pump wells and house other plumbing hardware if required.
All PVC traps are fully hand welded and the Polypropylene models use an extrusion process. The above ground models are supplied with stainless steel fittings, external steel supports for reinforcement and a completely sealed lid. One or two screw cap access covers are often used on the above ground models for easy access and to provide a perfect seal. The caps can also be optioned with locking capability for outdoor use. Vents, inlets and outlets are all standard PVC sizes for easy commissioning. They may be moved within the parameters of the applicable water authority for specific fitment.
The below ground models are usually supplied with Gattic lids or road covers for light, medium or heavy traffic areas. The external wall face of the below ground models also have provisions for concrete reinforcement rods to pass through the walls.
Quality control is second to none and all grease traps are spark tested (electronic leak detection) before the external welds are made. These designs have been proven to withstand many years of trouble free operation, and are a more cost effective solution when compared to stainless steel types and 'off the shelf' models available at the local hardware shop. All our grease trap interceptors are designed to DVS international standards, strictly adhere to EPA regulations and have been approved by many Australian water authorities.
